Ceramic foams are light weight cellular materials produced from ceramic particles with good characteristics of thermal stability, chemically inert and mechanical strength. From their nature, they possess a high degree of porosity and low density and the applications of the metal foams range widely including automotive industry, aerospace, electronics and medicine among others. There is fairly little practical application information about these materials: the most extensive usage of ceramic foams is identified for filtration, thermal insulation, and as substrates for catalysts due to their inherent structure and properties.

Ceramic sanitary wares are fittings and parts used for cleanliness namely wash bowls, closets, wash stands, and baths. These are primarily tri-axial materials prepared from many raw materials such as clay, quartz, and feldspar among others.
