Photonics is the technology and science of light sourcing, detecting and controlling it or manufacturing; and applied in systems including sources and sensors and quantum computers. It is used as a fundamental foundation of the internet and is incorporated into many aspects of technological progression such as autonomous vehicles, diagnoses and treatments of diseases in the healthcare industry as well as the 5G network. A photonic sensor on the other hand is an integrated unit in the form of a device, whose function is to capture light then convert into electrical signal. Nowadays, it is widely used in combination of light emission detection and signal transmission through fiber optics and some other optical elements.
